Using FFMPEG as its base, the software lets the user put in the quality and format of the output. After everything has been recorded, Screencast-o-matic also takes care of post-processing and transcoding. The user can use shortcuts or macros to control recording stopping and starting. Screencast-o-matic can also record sound, but first make sure you have a compatible sound card! The user can record their whole screen or pick a selected region to record.
